HE PROVED his mettle by reaching the finals of the BBC’s Ultimate Hell Week, and now Andy Gatenby has taken on another challenge.

The former boxer from Portsmouth took part in a mud race run by the charity WaterAid.

Andy, 28, took part in the challenge at Deepcut in Surrey to raise money for WaterAid and awareness of the 2.3 billion people around the world who don’t have access to toilet facilities that many take for granted.

Team leader Alex Lacey, who also took part in Ultimate Hell Week, said: ‘I’ve never been to an obstacle course before where I’ve had to climb through some porta loos or avoid some swinging bog brushes.

‘It was an amazing opportunity to raise awareness for an important cause- a lack of loos, which often something we take for granted in this country.’
