PEOPLE are being urged to help improve a historic park – just by going online.

Havant Borough Council is urging residents to help ‘transform their patch’ by voting for Bidbury Mead Recreation Ground in Bedhampton to win funding to improve a play area for local children.

Sponsored by drinks company Britvic, the ‘Transform Your Patch’ programme means that Bidbury Mead is competing for funds against projects all over the UK.

Voting continues until October, so there is plenty of time for residents to give their support and vote.

Councillor David Collins, in charge of environment in Havant Borough, said: ‘I think this is a great opportunity for residents in the borough to vote for a local facility.

‘By voting each day to “Transform Your Patch” residents are helping Bidbury Mead to gain £30,000 of funding to improve this popular area.’

If successful, £30,000 would be spent on improving the play area.

Local children would be involved in the design of the play area.
