MEMBERS of a military college helped people pack their shopping while raising money for charity.

Students from The Military Preparation College, based in Portsmouth, packed bags for customers shopping at Asda, in Fratton.

More than £800 was raised through the event which will all be donated to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA).

SSAFA is the oldest armed forces charity in the UK and cares for servicemen from the Second World War but also those fighting in modern wars.

The £842 raised by the students from The Military Preparation College will help the charity continue their work in the Portsmouth area.
