A TEAM of railway enthusiasts are appealing for help to clear a station.

Meon Valley rail enthusiasts have been granted planning permission to start clearing the site at West Meon station in the first stage of their plan to restore the heritage line between Knowle and West Meon.

The big clear-out starts at 9am on Tuesday, October 29 at West Meon station and finishes at midday, and volunteers are being asked to bring any spades and shovels they have to hand.

West Meon is on the historic line that also served Droxford, where Allied leaders met to discuss the D-Day landings.
