A hair and beauty studio in Southsea will go back in time and be cutting hair in 70s outfits for its annual charity day on Thursday.

Hi-lites Hair and Beauty Studio, in Eastney Road, is raising money for Diabetes UK by cutting hair outside the salon for £7.50, dressed in 70s costumes.

The event runs from 9am to 5.30pm, and staff will be selling home-baked cakes by clients, doing face-painting, running a big raffle and tombola, and there will be street entertainment.

Alison Irish, from Hi-lites said: ‘We are extremely lucky to have amazing support from all our families, friends and local businesses, who donate their time and raffle prizes to help make this the best fundraising event it can possibly be, and this year we also have the support of Santander, who will match every pound we make.’
