AN HISTORIC organ will be played in a series of lunchtime recitals.
The organ housed in Holy Trinity Church in Gosport will be played at 1pm by a number of accomplished organists in the coming months.
It comes after a free recital on Monday and a highly-successful event in February.
The half-hour recitals will take place at the church on April 22, May 20, June 17 and July 22.
As previously reported, the organ has 1,850 pipes with some dating back to 1720.
It was once played by the composer Handel.
Andrew Cooper from the Isle of Wight restored the organ, which has pipes up ranging from 16ft long down to two inches short.
Geoffrey Holroyde, honorary director of music at the church, said: ‘We want everyone to be able to enjoy it.’
