Horndean appeal to find trek sponsors

It’s time to get your skates on!

A woman who will be taking part in a charity trek is appealing for people to sponsor her.

Louise Ponting, 23, of Comfrey Close, Horndean, will be spending four days hiking the Machu Picchu trek in the Inca Trail, Peru.

She will be donating money to children's charity Action Medical Research and needs to raise 3,000.

But so far she has raised 400 for the trek in September and is encouraging people to donate.

She said: 'I picked this charity because they are one of the lesser known ones.

'Any time I mention them to friends of family, they say they have never heard of them.

'I have climbed Ben Nevis before and will be training throughout the year and am looking forward to the trek.'

The charity support babies and young children and money received is used to help tackle premature births and help children who are disabled or suffer from infections
