A CHARITY will celebrate the opening of its 10th fundraising shop tomorrow.

The Rowans Hospice will open a new charity store in Lee-on-the-Solent’s High Street at 9.30am.

Gosport’s mayor Cllr Chris Carter will officially open the shop along with the hospice’s chief executive, trustees, staff and volunteers.

The new shop’s manager, Sue Jones, said: ‘I am really excited to be taking on the responsibility for the new shop in Lee and will be supported by a great team of volunteers.

‘The local community is very pleased to have a Rowans Hospice shop back in Lee.

‘The previous shop closed in 2007 and it has taken us a long time to find a suitable alternative.’

Last year the charity’s trading company generated £232,463 in profit.

The money is used to fund the hospice’s work supporting people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
