Hostel v police pool event

POLICE officers and young people living in a Portsmouth hostel will compete in a pool competition.

Officers from Portsmouth Central will play against players at the Portsmouth Foyer in Edinburgh Road, Landport, on February 16.

PSCO Lee Wright, who has organised the competition, says the idea is to help improve relationships between police officers and young people living in the city’s youth hostels.

Prizes have been donated by supermarket chain Asda and Victory Trophies in Kingston Road, Buckland.

The competition winner will also win the pool cue.

PCSO Wright said: ‘We have set up the pool tournament to break down barriers between the police and kids in hostels in the area.’

Another event could be organised at All Saints’ hostel in All Saints’ Street, Landport.
