IT will prove to be one of the biggest spectacles of the summer.
And now a big package of children’s entertainment has been arranged for this year’s Victorious Festival on Southsea Common.
It comes on the back of the news that superstars Noel Gallagher, Manic Street Preachers, DJ Mark Ronson, Travis, The Levellers, Ash and Coral will blow away crowds during the August bank holiday music bash.
Organisers say family is ‘at the heart’ of Victorious – which is why they’re putting on a bigger and better Kids’ Arena, where all activities and attractions are included in the ticket price.
The arena stage will feature a headline performance from Fireman Sam and Swashbuckle characters Cook and Line.
Just to add to the occasion, children can meet and greet their favourites with a special guest appearance from The Gruffalo and the popular Bolinja princesses.
Brand new for this year is Happy’s Circus. By day, crowds can be mesmerised by traditional circus shows featuring acrobats, aerialists, speciality acts Rolla-Rolla and Sword Balancing plus loads of magic performed by Happy’s Circus. There will also be circus skills sessions throughout the day.
Bella Crafts will host a creation station and Aspex Gallery are to present print screen workshops.
And you can head to the beach to build the biggest sandcastle or help to create a mural with James Waterfield at the Victorious Art Wall.
If you’re a mini disco diva or rock star in the making then you can let loose at the Ready to Rock School, where you’ll be able to learn to play an instrument, sing-a-long to your favourite songs at Kiddi-oki or just show off some moves at Ickle Bambino Baby Raves. Canoe Lake Leisure will let tennis fans hone their skills on its courts – and Little Kickers will hold football coaching sessions.
And you can get theatrical with New Theatre Royal and Filskit Theatre.
Mary Rose Museum will give people the chance to dress up.
Tickets cost £30 per day and can be bought from; victoriousfestival.co.uk
