NEARLY 60 firefighters battled to save three terraced houses.

Crews from across the county, including Fareham, were called to tackle the blaze in Salterns Lane, Bursledon, at about 4.45pm yesterday.

The roof of the first property collapsed, while two other homes suffered heat and smoke damage.

No-one was hurt in the incident.

Group manager Jason Avery said: ‘The initial crews were faced with a large fire and did an outstanding job.’
