MORE than 100 vehicles are expected to be part of the funeral cortege for the funeral of Nadine Blake.

The 18-year-old died earlier this month from complications from cystic fibrosis.

The former Park Community School pupil came from a large family and hundreds of people are expected at her funeral on Friday at Warblington Church, in Havant.

Havant Borough Council is warning motorists there will be delays as the funeral cortege makes it from Nadine’s home in Calshot Road, Warren Park, to the church and has asked motorists to be patient. Along the way pupils from her former school will line Middle Park Way to pay their respects.

The horse and hearse carriage will leave Nadine’s family home at midday and will take the following route:

· Woolston Road

· Right into Middle Park Way, past Park Community School

· Left on to Purbrook Way

· Right on to Barncroft Way

· Left on to New Road

· Right on to Park Road North

· Left into Elm Lane

· Right on to North Street following the road around to the left onto East Street into Emsworth Road.

· Under the motorway and right into Church Lane.

The funeral is scheduled to begin at 1pm and finish at around 2pm.

Many vehicles are also expected to head to The Swan pub, in Jessie Road, Bedhampton, afterwards.

A spokeswoman for the council said: ‘The council’s traffic management team has been notified that the funeral procession will leave the family home at midday led by a horse and hearse carriage.

‘It is anticipated there will be more than 100 other vehicles following the cortège.

‘The council, together with the police will do their upmost in managing traffic flows, but would like to make road users aware of the possible delays during this time.’

Donations can be made to southamptonhospitalcharity.org stating the money should go to the Adults CF Fund.
