IT’S an incredibly exciting time for me.
I have been studying for last two years at Rose Bruford College in Sidcup for a masters degree in theatre for young audiences.
Through this degree, I have set up my company, Roots and Wings, and will be putting on my first production at Fareham United Reformed Church on Saturday.
There’s incredible pressure as it’s also my dissertation piece, so I really hope it goes well.
Roots and Wings is a theatre for young audiences company, specialising in creating work for early years children.
It’s an exciting, emerging company, which celebrates creativity, imagination and individuality in children and encourages family members to continue nurturing their discoveries.
As well delivering workshops, we aim to create specialist programmes, present theatre-in-education programmes for schools, run youth theatre sessions and produce theatre for young audiences.
So ‘close your eyes, make a wish....’ and join us on a magical journey into the world of a young girl’s imagination, as Roots and Wings proudly present Storybox.
It will be an interactive performance filled with music, puppetry and make believe. It’s suitable for three to five-year-olds, babes in arms and those nurturing their ‘inner child’ are also welcome.
Storybox will be performed at Fareham United Reformed Church on Saturday, May 11 at 11am and 2pm.
The performance lasts 40 minutes and it’s free to get in.
I really hope it goes well and I hope to see you there!
