A FLOWER festival is celebrating 80 years of a church in Lee-on-the-Solent.

The St Faith’s Church flower team is holding its annual flower display – called Celebration – at the church for three days.

Each display is themed, with one telling the story of Solent Coastguard, based at Daedalus, and one of Saint Faith.

Francesca Gunns, 79, of Bullfinch Court, in Lee-on-the-Solent, is on the team.

She praised co-ordinator Margaret Hunt for her hard work to put on the event.

She said: ‘The flower festival is celebrating 80 years of St Faith’s life.

‘We’ve involved the rest of the deanery, churches from Gosport, Fareham, Titchfield, flower clubs and other organisations.’

It runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
