AN ELDERLY man who was found on a railway line has been named.

Cyril Baker, 85, died on January 16 and was found on a railway line at Hilsea train station in Portsmouth.

An inquest into his death has been opened by the coroner.

British Transport Police were called to the station at about 5am when Mr Baker was found.

The force had said initially it was called to reports of a man being struck by a train but this was later found not to be the case. Mr Baker’s body was discovered on the line.
