An inquest has been opened to investigate the death of a Fareham man who died when his motorhome collided with a truck.

Richard Cooke, of Seafield Park Road, died when his Fiat Autotrail motorhome collided with a yellow DAF tipper truck at 10.14am last Thursday.

The 67-year-olds motorhome had been travelling east on the A31 Dorchester Road, Corfe Mullen, Wimborne, when it was involved in a head-on collision with the truck.

His wife, Joyce Cooke, was also in the motorhome and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A provisional date for the inquest has been set as November 20, to be held at the Coroner’s Court in Bournemouth.
