GOSPORT has made it through to the finals of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom competition.
The town was chosen from more than 1,000 entries to be one of only 73 finalists.
Gosport will be judged in the small city category alongside Loughborough, Crawley, Taunton and Harrogate.
Judges from the society will now score the town on its horticultural achievement, community participation and environmental responsibility.
They will look at Gosport’s parks and open spaces as well as the town centre and conservation areas.
The town will be scored on recycling and waste management, the condition of street furniture and how well young people in the borough are informed about Britain in Bloom initiatives.
The results will be announced in October at a special awards ceremony in Guernsey.
