PICTURED with a grin on his face, pop star Louis Tomlinson reckons his hand-crafted birthday treat really takes the cake.

And the Gosport baker who made it for him is hoping her efforts will help raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

Charlie Jacob-Gray owns a cake shop on the corner of Gosport’s North Cross Street.

When she found out her father worked with the dad of One Direction band member Louis Tomlinson, she decided to make him a birthday cake.

And after sending it off, she was delighted to be sent a picture of him smiling with the gift.

Charlie said: ‘I was excited when I found out I could do the cake for him.

‘It went from Gosport to Peterborough to Hull to Doncaster trying to find its way to him.

‘I thought it was absolutely amazing to get a photograph back.’

Charlie designed to the cake to play up to Louis’ love of both Manchester United and the Doncaster Rovers.

Grinning from the stands in the background are his fellow band members.

As well as pulling in some publicity for her shop, Charlie is hoping the celebrity cake can also help raise money for charity.

The 30-year-old was born with a condition called Erb’s Palsy, which limits movement in her left hand.

And she has made it her mission to raise as much money for the Erb’s Palsy Charity as she can through her cake business.

She is waiting for a delivery of signed One Direction goods in the post, which she will then auction off in a raffle from her shop.

Proceeds will go towards the charity.

Charlie added: ‘The charity does a lot of really good work.

‘Up until a short time ago I didn’t even know there was a charity for people with Erb’s Palsy.

‘But now I want to do anything I can to raise their profile and raise some money for them.

‘Obviously One Direction are popular boys so I’m sure this will help.’

Erb’s Palsy is a condition mainly brought on by birth trauma.

Details of the auction will be posted on charliescake.com.
