TAKING a quick break from rehearsals, young actors swapped the stage for the radio as they broadcast live to Portsmouth.

Talented members of the cast of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory – which had its final performance at The Groundlings Theatre in Portsea – enjoyed their interview with Express FM host Terry Powell.

They talked about all the opportunities they enjoy as members of the Groundlings Drama School.

Archie Porter, 12, who played Charlie Bucket, said: ‘We enjoy playing so many different characters in so many different shows.’

Tom Cawte, 16, who played Willy Wonka, added: ‘Not only do we get to appear in our shows, but we have also taken part in dramas like the forthcoming Titanic and local events like the Festival of Christmas.’
