THE Portsmouth region of the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club held its first show at Fort Nelson, near Fareham.

More than 50 cars of all ages were displayed on the parade ground, and members enjoyed the views from Portsdown Hill over Portsmouth Harbour, the city and over to the Isle of Wight.

Fort Nelson, which houses the Royal Armouries Museum, recently reopened after a £5m rebuild.

A spokesman for the club said: ‘The fort proved an excellent venue with its new visitor centre, cafe and galleries.’

The JEC is the biggest club for Jaguar enthusiasts in the world, and the local region meets on the second Monday of the month at 8pm at The Churchillian pub on Portsdown Hill Road, a short distance east from Fort Nelson.

The club says anyone with an interest in Jaguars will be made welcome.

The show was held on Sunday.
