UNPRECEDENTED demand for a James Blunt set at the Wickham Festival has led to organisers increasing its capacity by 2,000 to cope with demand.
The star is headlining on Thursday, August 14.
Winchester City Council has given permission for the festival to increase its capacity to 7,000 for the night.
Organiser Peter Chegwyn said: ‘The response has been astonishing. We have always operated with a capacity of 5,000 but we have had to apply for an extension and we are very grateful to the council for granting it. We still expect to sell out before next week.’
The Lightning Seeds headline on Friday, Steve Earle and the Dukes on Saturday and Bellowhead on Sunday.
