AROUND 200 people went along to see what hobbies they could take up at the opening of a new community centre.

The Learning Place, Derby Road, North End, opened its doors after a £1m refurbishment that took three years to complete.

It now offers a range of activities for people of all ages to take part in, including cooking, improving English, maths and IT skills and learning to juggle and facepaint.

Seb Griffin, 24, a casual tutor, said: ‘I teach juggling and music technology.

‘Juggling is great because you can impress your friends with it and music technology helps you record your own music.’
