PREPARING for severe weather will be the focus of a public meeting.
Julie James, senior emergency planning officer for Hampshire County Council, will give a presentation on how to protect homes.
The meeting has been organised in light of the heavy rain and flooding last winter and the snowy conditions of previous years.
Ms James will also explain what has been done across the county to prepare for future heavy rainfall and how residents can apply for funding to help improve their homes’ defences.
The meeting will be held in the council chamber, in Penns Place, Petersfield, from 6.30pm on November 11.
Cllr Judy Onslow, chairwoman of the Petersfield community forum, said: ‘Last year we were battered by a severe winter, with heavy rainfall, floods and power cuts.
‘We don’t know how this winter will unfold but there are things we can do to protect our property and our communities, both as homeowners and as local authorities.’
