YOUNGSTERS got to see a traditionally dressed Santa Claus when they visited Santa’s Grotto at the Victorian Festival of Christmas this weekend.

The dockyard was transformed for yuletide fun as visitors descended on the dockyard to see Victorian characters roaming the streets.

Dressed as Santa in green to please the crowds, Matt Sackman was joined by Nathalie Gunn and Rishi Ghosh.

Thousands of people came to see the annual attraction, with regulars and some visiting for the very first time.

This year organisers decided the theme should be Sherlock Holmes.

Other highlights included the Christmas market, street entertainers, including musicians, and much more.
