FAREHAM library doesn’t just loan out books – if you listen carefully twice a week you will hear the clacking of knitting needles.

The library is home to two knitting groups – Knit.Tog and Chix with Stixs – which meet every week at the library.

The sessions are held on a Tuesday, between 2pm and 4pm and on a Friday, between 4pm and 6pm.

Library assistant Hazel Delamere said: ‘Our groups really do cater for all levels of knitters, from absolute beginners to experts – whatever your level, I’d urge people to come down and give us a try.

‘If you’re stuck with a project, there are people who can help you. The group is good because you get to meet other people who are genuinely interested in your hobby. People share ideas and patterns as well as making friends and having fun.’

The group is free to attend and is open to all.

If you would like to join go to Fareham Library and ask for Hazel.
