Lads' Pokemon Go fun and games delights crowds

THE antics of a group of friends has attracted attention from charities after they delighted crowds at Gunwharf Quays while dressed as giant Pokemon.

The friends refer to themselves as Team Crunk and member Ben Davies of Gosport said the stunt at the Portsmouth retail centre was the latest in a long line of japes spanning the past ten years.

‘We’re a big group of mates and we like to do random things for fun’ said Ben.

Pokemon Go is so big so we thought it would be funny.’

The friends went to Gunwharf Quays where they drew large crowds wanting to take photos of the spectacle before amusing onlookers by skateboarding along the waterfront.

‘About nine of us went down and we had to keep swapping who was in the suits because it was quite hot’ added Ben.

He said since their antics last weekend several charities had contacted them asking if they would attend fundraising events.

‘It was a massive success.’

The friends have posted video of their antics on social media, including a slight surreal sequence showing a Pokemon being playfully pushed into the fountain near to the Gosport ferry terminal.
