TWO lanes of a Portsmouth road have now been reopened following a multi-vehicle accident.

The lanes in Southampton Road, near to where the M27 meets the A27, were closed for around two hours from 5.20pm.

It followed a seven-car crash, which involved freeing a female driver from her vehicle.

Cosham fire station sent two crews and the special equipment unit to the incident.

South Central Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and two officers.

Two people have been taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, to be treated for minor injuries.
