Drink-driver given a ban

DRINK-DRIVER Dennis Bevan has been fined and banned from the roads.

The 56-year-old was stopped by police at the ferry port in Wharf Road, Buckland, Portsmouth.

A breathalyser test revealed he had 45 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35mg.

Bevan, of Lealand Road, Drayton, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He was fined £400 and told to pay £100 in costs. The magistrates disqualified him from driving for a year.
