Drink-driver is given ban

DRINK-DRIVER Steven Smith has been banned from the roads.

The 34-year-old admitted driving a Hyundai Coupe in Eastern Way, Fareham, while over the limit on January 22.

A test revealed his breath contained 75 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Smith, of Bedford Close, Havant, was fined £500 and told to pay £85 costs and £15 to a fund for crime victims by Fareham magistrates.

He was banned from driving for 17 months.

The ban could be reduced by 127 days if he pays to complete a government-approved driving course by January next year.
