Drivers caught out for chatting on mobiles
A TOTAL of 34 drivers were stopped for committing motoring offences – such as driving while talking on their mobile phone – during a crackdown in two villages.
Police and firefighters joined forces for the initiative called Operation Airwalk in Fishbourne and Southbourne, near Emsworth.
Motorists were stopped by officers for speeding, using mobile phones while driving and not wearing seatbelts.
Instead of an on-the-spot fine, those caught were given the opportunity to watch an educational video highlighting the dangers of their offences.
All 34 motorists who were stopped chose to watch the video.
PC Andy Rosier, from Sussex Police, said: ‘Anti-social driving is a priority for both the Fishbourne and Southbourne Neighbourhood Management Panels.
‘We receive a lot of complaints from the local community regarding these issues.
‘We all have a responsibility to keep our roads safe and being aware of speed limits is a large part of this. We are hoping to carry out more of these operations.’

Sorry but that's not good enough, seize phone for evidence, into court, points, fine, order destruction of seized phone, and vehicle for second offence!!! There are too many vehicle aimers playing with toys, ask any cyclistmotorcyclist...
