Police hunt Portsmouth car arsonist

POLICE have launched an investigation after two cars were set on fire in the early hours of the morning.

The first car, a Peugeot 206, was set alight in an alleyway off Knowsley Road, Cosham, at 12.50am on Monday.

Just under two hours later, at 2.40am, a Vauxhall Corsa was torched in Broad Gardens, Farlington.

PC Pierre Bertram said: ‘At this time we are treating these arsons as two separate incidents but are looking into the possibility that they could be linked.

‘Have you seen or heard anything suspicious? I would urge anyone with any information to get in touch with us as soon as possible.’

Anyone with any information should contact PC Bertram at Fratton police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
