A GUIDED walk will take place this weekend revealing the secret lives of trees.
One of Fareham Borough Council’s countryside rangers will lead the 90-minute tour around Warsash Common, as part of a season of events organised by the authority alongside the Fareham In Bloom volunteers.
The ranger will take people through the natural woodland while telling them about the most interesting trees and the role they have played in local legends, history and culture.
Cllr Connie Hockley, in charge of leisure and community matters, said: ‘This is a great opportunity to explore this protected site at Warsash and reveal its significance as a natural habitat and recognise the history of its hardwood inhabitants.’
The walk leaves New Road car park, off Fleet End Road at 10am on Saturday.
Tickets are £3 per person and can be bought through Fareham Tourist Information Centre, Westbury Manor, West Street, Fareham.
