A CHARITY shop has re-opened with a bold and bright makeover to celebrate 25 years in a high street.

The Age UK shop in Park Parade, Leigh Park, has undergone a revamp that included a new lay-out.

The shop will also act as an information hub for older people to access information and services available from Age UK.

Pat Doswell, who has been volunteering at the Age UK shop for 16 years, said: ‘It’s very exciting our newly refurbished bright and vibrant shop will be open to the general public.

‘Everybody knows Age UK and a lot of people have been waiting for us to return to the high street.’

To help promote the new look shop all tickets on its merchandise will say: ‘I’ve been loved before, so love me again’.

Shop manager Lou Peplow added: ‘We rely on the public donating their much-loved quality items to us and on volunteers giving their time to help run our shop, so we hope local people will support us in any way they can.’
