HAVANT MP David Willetts was among scores of people who celebrated the first full year of free broadband in Leigh Park.

Community UK offers households across the estate free Wi-Fi internet through a community portal where users can log on to a wealth of local information and services.

Peter Reed-Forrester is the man behind the initiative - which is now available to 60 per cent of households in Leigh Park.

He threw a party at Leigh Park Community Centre, in Dunsbury Way, so that others could find out more about it.

He said: ‘It was a great day. Some students from Highbury College helped organise it which in turn gave them invaluable work experience.

‘So far 300 people have signed up but new people are signing up all the time.’
