THIS summer has been drier than normal, figures show.

Portsmouth Water’s latest figures show that about 50 per cent of the average rainfall fell during June. Rain fell on less than a third of the days and the maximum daily rainfall was 8mm. Groundwater levels remains steady for this time of year.
