A FISHERMAN was rescued from a tidal island in Portsmouth Harbour after he developed hypothermia.

The man, aged in his 50s, was shore fishing on Rat Island when he became unwell.

Hill Head Coastguard and a lifeboat from Gosport were called out at about 4.40pm on Saturday. The man was taken to shore and treated by paramedics. Later on Saturday, at about 9pm, a lifeboat helped to rescue three anglers whose boat broke down in Langstone Harbour.
