LIGHTNING struck a house in Gosport during storms today.

A chimney, on a house in Tukes Avenue, Bridgemary, was hit at about 1pm.

Firefighters from Fareham and Gosport were called to the scene.

The strike made the chimney unstable and the council was called to stabilise it.

Nobody was home at the semi-detached house at the time of the strike.
