A CASH prize is up for grabs for the fastest rubber duck that takes part in a charity river race.

Swanwick Lions Club has organised its annual duck race in conjunction with Southampton Solent Lions Club.

It is the 24th year that the event has been held and it will see 2,000 plastic ducks dropped from the Old Bridge into the River Itchen at Mansbridge for the popular race.

The race is being held on Monday, August 31 and will start at 2.30pm.

The finishing line is at Woodmill, where people can enjoy a picnic. One lucky winner will win a cash prize of £250. Tickets are £1.
