TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of income tax and National Insurance fraud estimated at £800,000.
The 60-year-old man and 57-year-old woman were arrested by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) criminal investigators in Locks Heath on Saturday.
They were quizzed on suspicion of crimes relating to the Fraud Act 2006.
HMRC said it could not confirm which properties were searched.
However The News understands the businessman and woman are linked to Pixies Day Nursery in Locks Road, Locks Heath.
A Locks Heath home and three business premises have been searched and investigations are ongoing.
The pair were later released on bail pending further inquiries.
HM Revenue & Customs spokesman Bob Gaiger said: ‘HMRC takes tax fraud seriously and will not hesitate to investigate those suspected of stealing public funds.
