Andronikou: Evidence shows Chainrai is the owner
Pompey have handed over evidence to the taxman, which they say proves Balram Chainrai had the right to put the club in to administration.
HMRC had challenged the appointment in the High Court.
The judge adjourned the case to next week, saying the club must provide evidence to validate its going in to administration.
Administrator Andrew Andronikou said he held a 'very constructive' meeting with HMRC on Tuesday afternoon, where he produced a detailed analysis of Pompey's financial transactions with Chainrai's company Portpin Limited.
He said: 'HMRC should now be satisfied that the said debenture is valid and accordingly that our appointment under that debenture is valid.
'We are hoping that this matter will be resolved shortly and we are awaiting a written response.'
If HMRC are satisfied, the court case on Monday will stil go ahead, but only as a formaility, Mr Andronikou said.
The administrator said he now hopes to meet with the Premier League to convince it to allow Pompey to sell two players and loan them back. He also plans to ask the league not to impose a nine point deduction for going in to administration and ask for cash advances on TV revenues and parachute payments to help pay off the club's creditors.
Meanwhile, Mr Andronikou denied the FA will try to withold cash owed to Pompey for reaching the semi-final of the Cup.
He said: 'The club will not be denied any money owed to it arising from its recent success in the FA Cup and will certainly be there to take its place at Wembley in April.'
