Appeal for witnesses to Southsea raid

Thieves stole a raft of electrical goods and cash in a house break-in.

Burglars forced their way into a top-floor flat in Helena Road, Southsea, through the front door.

They made off with a black Samsung NC10 Netbook, a silver Sharppixel camera and a Canon digital camera, a silver Siemens Notebook laptop and a MacBook Pro.

The crooks also stole 200 euros in cash in the burglary between 8.30am and 9.45am on January 28.

All of the laptops have European plug sockets.

PC Allison Fraser said: 'This is an unusual burglary where the top-floor flat in a large building has been targeted. The door to the flat was damaged during the incident, and the laptops stolen are for European plug sockets - if you are offered items like these for sale please check the sockets, and if you are suspicious of where they came from at all, report it to the police.

'I would like to remind people to check the security of their homes.

'Ensure you leave all windows and doors closed and secure when you go out, invest in heavy-duty locks for your doors and do not leave valuable items on display in your home. Remember, don't give thieves a chance.'

Anyone with any information should call PC Allison Fraser at Fratton police station on 101 or 0845 0454545.

Alternatively call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
