Budding Beckhams win sponsor for their kit
BUDDING young footballers have the chance to improve their skills on the pitch after a business stepped in to sponsor a new team.
Havant-based photographers, Rob Paul Studios, has agreed to provide the kit for an under-six team organised by Purbrook Athletic.
It came about following interest from parents and younger children and now the team has been set up for children aged five and six.
The squad meets every Thursday evening and on Sundays at Warren Park School, Leigh Park, Havant.
Purbrook Athletic manager Kenny Parkes said: 'We're delighted that this new starter team is proving so popular and it's great that so many young children are such keen footballers.
'Having the kit sponsored has been a fantastic step forward as securing sponsorship for this age range can be hard.'
He added: 'Being part of a football team is extremely important for children as it teaches them discipline, team skills and gamesmanship from an early age.'
