Can you help catch bin fire starter?

POLICE are hunting a serial arsonist.

Two rubbish bins were set on fire in Leigh Park on Friday.

At 2.10am rubbish left next to wheelie bins in Dunsbury Way was set on fire.

Between 3am and 3.30am a pile of rubbish was set alight at the side of a house on the junction of Swanmore Road and Beaulieu Avenue.

In both cases the homeowners were able to extinguish the flames themselves.

It follows three similar blazes in Stratfield Gardens, Swanmore Road and Well Meadow on January 31.

PC Emily Dummer from Waterlooville CID said: ‘We’re trying to trace a man who may have witnessed what happened. He was seen on the corner of Brockenhurst Avenue and Dunsbury Way.

‘He’s described as white, over 6ft tall, skinny, wearing a navy blue hooded top with the hood pulled over his head and dark blue jeans with white patches on the back. I’d like him to get in touch to see if he can help with our enquiries.’

Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
