Cathedral peregrine's long trip to new home
An offspring of Chichester Cathedral's famous peregrines is following in his father's footsteps – by setting up home on a church 120 miles away.
The Chichester male, born during the RSPB's Aren't Birds Brilliant! event in 2007, is now calling a Cambridge city centre church home.
This is the furthest a member of the Chichester Cathedral peregrine family is known to have travelled for a breeding site.
The peregrine's whereabouts were discovered after a ring on his leg was identified as originating from Chichester Cathedral.
Dan Parkinson, who runs the RSPB's Aren't Birds Brilliant! project at the cathedral, said: 'If he's successful, Cambridge may well get to enjoy similar sights to the ones we get in the skies above Sussex – they're in for an almighty show.'
