CCTV shows woman wanted over handbag theft from Lee-on-the-Solent store

WANTED The suspect

WANTED The suspect

A WOMAN caught on CCTV is being hunted by police after a handbag theft.

Police have released the still image from a camera in Co-op in Lee-on-the-Solent’s High Street after a 61-year-old woman’s handbag was stolen.

The woman left her handbag in a shopping trolley and went out of the store before realising she had forgotten it.

But when she returned to the store, a thief had taken the red or dark pink bag containing Karen Millan sunglasses, two Clinique lipsticks, reading glasses and a bank card.

It happened in the morning of Wednesday, January 9 but police have only now released details.

PC Jason Bishop from the Alver Valley Safer Neighbourhoods team said: ‘I would like to hear from anyone who can help us to identify the woman pictured in the CCTV as I believe she may be able to assist with our enquiry.’

Anyone with information should call PC Bishop on 101.
