College to help find stewards at Olympics
A college is offering a new course which will help people get employed at the 2012 Olympics.
Fareham College is starting the stewarding in spectator sports course which will train students in developing skills in preparing events, monitoring crowds, responding to illnesses and emergencies, event entry, exit and crowd control
It has been developed as part of an initiative to recruit 6,000 event staff for the London Olympics. On successful completion of the course each student is guaranteed an interview for one of the highly sought after Olympic jobs.
Lecturer Adam Gale said: 'With the security and events industries experiencing growth as never before, this project is an excellent opportunity for our students to add to their qualifications and experience.
'The course is a high quality product which will enable successful students to work at football grounds, concerts, exhibitions and other events.'
