TWO motorway accidents have caused major delays for Hampshire motorists this morning.

Delays westbound are now reported to be up to an hour between junction 10 and junction 4 due to earlier accident on the M3.

While delays eastbound are approximately 80 minutes between junction 2 and junction 10 due to the M3 accident and an accident at junction 9.

A four car accident closed the M3 northbound between junctions 14 and 13 Emergency services were called and the accident was cleared by 8.45am.

Meanwhile the third lane of the eastbound M27 carriageway was blocked as result of a three vehicle accident near junction nine, at Whiteley at around 7.30am.

A car fire on the hard shoulder after the Segensworth and Whiteley junction on hard shoulder also added to the delays.

At 9.59am, a broken down vehicle westbound at J10 blocked lane three.

A broken down vehicle on the westbound carriageway near junction 10 has caused minor delays as traffic was briefly stopped. The vehicle has now been moved to the hard shoulder.

As a result there are 10 minute delays between junctions 10 and seven. Eastbound delays are improving.
