Council dishes out cash for volunteer activities

A VOLUNTEER group which provides exciting activities for people with learning disabilities has been given a £4,000 cash boost.

The Fareham-based Friday Night Club has been given the funds by Fareham Borough Council’s community fund.

It means the group can buy a six-wheeled all-terrain vehicle for its members to have fun in.

The executive leader of the council, Councillor Sean Woodward, said: ‘We are happy to support the club so it can continue to offer safe but exciting activities to people with learning disabilities living in the borough.

‘I would urge any other groups who have an idea for a project that could benefit from similar support to get in touch with their local Community Action Team.’

For information call 01329 236 100 or email cats@fareham.gov.uk.
