Council services to close

LIBRARIES in Portsmouth will close on Saturday as maintenance work is carried out.

Portsmouth City Council has confirmed training will be carried out in libraries and other services will be closed for maintenance work.

Public toilets under the archway in Guildhall Square will be closed for the day.

The closest nearby toilet is outside the Tesco store in Crasswell Street.

The Big Screen in Guildhall Square will be shut down from tomorrow evening until Monday morning.

Essential services, including traffic management, CCTV and community safety teams have plans in place to make sure they continue to provide services.

Museums in the city will be open as usual.

A council spokesman said: ‘Thank you for bearing with us during this time.’
