TRIALS HMS Duncan, the Royal Navys sixth and final Type 45 Destroyer

THE last of the Royal Navy’s six new destroyers has breezed through her second set of sea trials.

HMS Duncan, the sixth and final Type 45 built for the navy, has been patrolling the Clyde in Scotland for the last few weeks to trial her state-of-the-art combat suite.

HMS Duncan’s senior naval officer, Commander Phil Game, said: ‘The ship has again demonstrated its outstanding capability, this time from a combat systems perspective.’

The warship will remain alongside in Scotstoun until next year before heading to Portsmouth to join her five sister ships.
